The big question is, why not take that equipment to other hospital that need it? I guess this is just one other example of senseless decision making.
Looking on the rather spooky and fascinating side of things, this hospital has now become a dark shell for ghosts. It is rumored to be haunted! More and more people continue to visit the site illegally to experience the rush and excitement. Ronald Hart, the founder of the facebook group "A True History of the Untold - Kempton Park Hospital", was actually born there in 1991, and admits to occasionally spending some time at the hospital for quiet contemplation. "On a clear night you can see Pretoria...I like to come here when I'm depressed" says Hart. I guess one can never know for sure if the ghost stories are true or not, unless you get to experience it yourself.

The Gauteng Department of Health says preparations to refurbish Kempton Park Hospital are well on their way. Scheduled to begin March of this year (2013), the department expects construction to be complete by July 2014, in time for the hospital to re-open in 2015. Hopefully these are just not spoken words that will never see the light of action.

However, they just left and left medical supplies expensive equipment estimated to be worth R10 million, and until this day, about R1 million is spent annually on security.

DeleteHi Tumii.L, very nice page. The Kempton Park Hospital certainly is an interesting topic of discussion. I also agree with the fact that they could have used the equipment for other hospitals in the surrounding areas which are under heavy load and in dire need of equipment.

Why is there still files containing patient info left for everyone to see? (its supposed to be PRIVATE)
Why didn't the state take the equipment and put it into hospitals that is in need of them?
This hospital was one of the state of the art hospitals when it was still fully functional, so what was the reason for short staff?
What I cannot understand is there is so many stories surrounding the closure of the Hospital, why cant one of the nurses who worked there until the last day (day it was closed), come forward and give some clarity on this subject? Are they afraid or do they like the public making there own assumptions?
It all seems to be blur Anneri. Very interesting issues you just brought up. There's always some sort of reason behind everything, and under these unfortunate circumstances, nobody seems to have any answers or at least be brave enough to come forward and give some clarity to the public. There are so many hospitals arround the country with very poor conditions and no equipment what-so-ever. But, so it seems, besides the very few like us, the state really is not bothered by this at all. Not to mention the privacy of the hospital's then patients...this is a clear case of negligence.
DeleteHay every one my brother was there a week ago and u can clearly see ghost figures on the pics thay took of a girl in a long dress.u can olso hear a lot of souds and camaras dont always want to work properly.very scary

ReplyDeleteYou are talking nonsense. My son was born in the hospital in 1982 and my husband was also treated there a few times. Nobody was subjected to any form of experimentation, it was a very professional hospital with very good doctors and nurses. Stop making up stories.
DeleteThe hospital is haunted and there are bad ghosts in that place, to reopen the hospital wil cause all sorts of problems. My advice will be to stay away from the hospital. No one knows what realy happend there.

ReplyDeleteJa I agree I have been there a number of times and still the place freaks me out every time we go there we find a new room we haven't seen before even thou we have been in that place before but there is one place we found but due to the power being off the pumps could not pump the water out so it was filled with water and we have never found that room agean all oi know all the pics we took looks like hands coming out of the water and it has a evil feeling to it so every time we go there we look for this room and don't find it.looks like it vanished

ReplyDeletehey peeps :) I went there and It was flipping scary..i spoke to mother and her friend was a nurse there.. the hospital was shut and abandoned due to a life threatening disease.. she could not tell me what though.. makes sense though

ReplyDeleteWe were there during February 2013 and capture a few ghosts on camera and also one in the children's ward on video... very scary place... There is something that bothers me still.... On the roof there was like a little office with a computer (switched on and working), we tried to figure out what the password was, but could not crack it. The security guard shouted to us from the ground and said we have to get of the roof immediately because it is unsafe and there are no railings.... just wonder what was up with the computer, looked like a working station on the roof, we left everything there, were to afraid to take anything with us... but nobody ever say anything about the "office" on the roof....

ReplyDeleteHi just today I came across this very interesting article and yes I have experienced ghosts or spirits and have even seen a Jinn (I hope you know what this is. If this was supposed to have opened in 2015 why is it still closed.....I would really like to visit this place. I think that something bad must have happened there, why is no one wanting to talk about this place even if they do revamp this place something or the other will happen there spirits do not just rest.
